The Basics…

From home, I operate all modes on all HF bands except 60M, with an output power not exceeding 200W. I’ve not been active much at all on the WARC bands to date. That will change from here on.
I enjoy Single Operator, Low Power (often unassisted) CW, RTTY and to a lesser extent SSB, contesting.
I do Multi-Single and Multi-Two High Power CW and RTTY contesting with EI7M, the East Cork Radio Group. I occasionally help out with SSB contests but that’s not really my thing.
I like to operate /P and beginning this year (2026), I’ll be activating POTA and SOTA locations in Ireland.
I spend an inordinate amount of my time Navtex DXing and low frequency (160M and below) SWLing – mainly aviation NDBs.
I try to be a good QSL buddy; LoTW and ClubLog uploads are done daily and I try to do buro and direct cards a few times a year when folk look for them.
